2 Samuel Introduction - King James Version (KJV)

Synopsis:
2nd Samuel covers King David’s rule over Israel. His reign is filled with struggle from the national level down to the internal level. Regardless of David’s many mistakes, God still protected and called him a faithful man as he never went after any foreign gods in his life.

On the national level, David spent 7 years trying to unify all the tribes under his own rule as there was division after Saul’s death. After successfully unifying the nation and bringing the Ark of the Covenant into Jerusalem, God makes a covenant with David that his line will always sit on the throne of Israel. The Davidic Covenant is ultimately fulfilled with coming of Jesus Christ.
