1 Samuel Introduction

Synopsis:
1st Samuel records the transition of Israel from being led by local Judges to being ruled by a king. The people of Israel have continuously groaned for a king like the other nations that surround. God allows for Samuel to anoint the people’s choice of Saul from the tribe of Benjamin as their first king. God ultimately knows that Saul will turn away from Him, and that is why He will be raising up a man that is after His own heart from the tribe of Judah.
